I am so excited, to say the least! I emailed an application on a whim with only hours to spare, fully expecting a ‘thanks, but no thanks’ email. Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather!!! I am getting into stamps in a big way, so this is just the most exciting thing ever!!! Thanks so much, Joy! You have made my decade!
Did anyone else stay up waaaay past their bedtime just to see the Aussie’s walk into the stadium at the Olympic Games opening ceremony? Can anyone elaborate on how they picked the order of countries? It is usually alphabetical, isn’t it? The 203rd country out of 205. So, yeah, after 1am AEST they walked in. And wow, didn’t their colours stand out? Loving that varigated blue. I really can’t wait to watch some events. My favourites are the athletics, diving and gymnastics. Bring it on.
Thanks for stopping by!

A layout and a card
From the cybercrop at Keep’n The Memories last saturday. The sketch challenge was really funky as it was a ‘puzzle sketch’ where you had to create your own sketch out of the given shapes. Nic has her own blog with challenges now. You should check it out. Fun indeed.
I had some fun with this layout. I dyed the piece of paper I used to cover the chipboard bird. I let it soak overnight in a water and blue food colouring solution. The next morning I woke to some beautiful shades of blue! Sorry about the bad pic, the weather has not been so kind in the last 2 days.
And a card also based on a sketch. My card looks nothing like the sketch. I also have found out that I don’t particularly like making cards, which is why I don’t I guess.
Well, that’s all from me tonight.

A week of R&R
I am on holidays from work this week! YAY!!! I am very excited and happy! I have got plenty of sleep so far and I have been enjoying not rushing around of an afternoon. It’s been nice. Really nice. It’s going to be hard to get back into the routine next week, but knowing I only have 12 weeks until my next week off will keep me going.
Amy is getting about heaps now. She is quite the little mover. She especially likes to chase after my camera strap if I am on the ground trying to take photos. She still has that frown. I have named it ‘The Frown’ as it is usually plastered on her face.
Even when she is happy she still frowns. Such a serious little thing, she is! LOL!
And here are the other two playing around in the backyard. I asked Kate a question and she was trying to think of a way to answer it and Luke was using the rake as a gun. Of course.
So, I went to the local Salvo’s yesterday. I went there to get the kids some clothes to use for dressups. Much fun was had last night! They were really having fun trying out the outfits. I will hopefully add to the stash over the next couple of months to keep their imaginative play going and fresh. I also got an old book for 50c. A good one for ripping up and using it for art and craft.
Well, I had planned to scrapbook last night, but instead we had a blackout. Bugger. So, I went to bed at 7.30 as there wasn’t much else to do! LOL! Goodness, I got a great sleep! I feel great today and so full of energy! Unfortunately Amy is sick again, so we wont be going far today, damn I really needed to get my eyebrows waxed too.
If you have some spare time, you should pop over to the forum at The Scrapbook Establishment. We have some challenges going on there at the moment and the forum is so friendly, warm and inviting. I have started an Art Journal unofficial challenge. As well, we have some great Journal Jar discussions. We also have product discussions where you can win a prize and a great monthly competition. Come on over, the girls are just so fantastic there!
Well, that’s about it from me today, Luke wants me to go and play Army’s with him. I better go.
Later Gators!

10 Years, a Book and Week 1 Day 1
Yes, Steve and I made the 10 year mark. Not that I ever doubted it, mind you. I think we are more in love now than ever before. Although, the ‘comfortableness’ (is that even a word?!) has settled in. But that’s ok because if you cannot truly be yourself around your beloved one, then when can you be yourself? We didn’t do anything to celebrate. Steve did buy me a box of Roses chocolate, which was devoured at a rate of knots.
Now, if you have popped in here before, you would know I work nights. Not just nights, 10pm – 6.30am. Prime sleeping time. It’s a hard slog. I get tired, really, really tired. I am on the go non stop during the day. I think anything over 4 hours sleep a day is a bonus. I have put on weight because my metabolism is out of whack. I could go on.
But you know, there is nothing better than curling up on the couch on saturday nights, and sundays too, and falling asleep on Steve’s lap. He tells me to go to bed and get a good night’s sleep. Me? Nah. I just want to be next to him. Even if I am asleep. Just to be in arms reach is enough for me. And him. And that’s the sweetest thing.
Now, I have read another book! I know! Already! You see, I started reading it and I just couldn’t put it down!
Anybody Out There – Marian Keyes
I honestly laughed out loud numerous times during the book. I also cried my eyes out numerous times. I could totally feel the main character, although I wish to never go through what she went through, I can understand her. Great book. A girlie book, but that’s ok. Rating – 9 out of 10. I just don’t think anyone can beat Dan Brown. Close, but no cigar. I spotted another of her books at KMart the other day and I am thinking I might just have to snavel it!
Week 1 Day 1 – School holidays! I love holidays! You can laze around in jammies all day, and who cares? You don’t have to be anywhere important! Well, mostly not, anyway.
Our first day consisted of me making a batch of cupcakes. Yes, they really are cupcakes and not muffins. Although they could be mistaken quite easily for muffins. Nice all the same and I couldn;t be bothered icing them. I tried to make the icing mixture aqua, my favourite colour. It came out snot green, so I figured that they really wouldn’t be around long enough anyway. I was right.
And here is Amy. Stuck. Again. I swear she gets stuck at various points in the house about a hundred times a day. Ok, so a slight exaggeration, but she is always crying out because she has got herself stuck somewhere and a high proportion of my day is unsticking her. Gotta love her since she is so busy chasing the other two around!
Hmm, I only just realised after living here for a year that our door handles are silver. Thats gotta change. I will have to tell Steve, if I remember.
Kate and Luke played really well together for the first day. Next week will be a different story though. But today they played Buzz on the PS2, played with their Pokemon cards, played with some toys (but I think it was pokemon related), did some crafty stuff and played at the park with Steve when he got home. I haven’t really planned much for these school holidays. They kind of crept up on me and I hadn’t given them much thought. The next couple of days are supposed to be quite cold so I am thinking some more craft/movie/Buzz activities are the way to go.
And now since they are playing nicely together still and Amy is having a sleep, I might go and fix my Master’s project. Why the bugger did I use HS rubons on my calendar?! Everone knows HS rubons are pretty crappy. But noooooo I wanted to use them. Well, guess who gets to redo their project today? Yep. This sucker.
Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Never again.
I rang Nova the other day, lucky they ran out of time and I didn’t go to air. You see, I *thought* I had a funny story and then when I actually said it out loud, my gosh it sounded so lame. So yeah, never again will I ring a radio station. LOL!
Ok, so I have some scrappy news! I was selected to join The Scrapbook Establishment’s Design Team! I was so excited when I got the email! It was one shop where I had always been in love with so I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would make the team! I am very excited and cannot wait until I start designing for them! Other scrappy stuff, I have finished my single layout for the SM Masters comp, I am 99% finished my double, I just have to do the journaling. I started on my calendar last night, I cut out the back from some wood and I am looking forward to making a start on that. Keepsake is still in the ‘thinking about’ phase. I kind of have an idea with the words and stuff. I still have almost 3 weeks to complete it, so I have plenty of time. Who else is entering this year?
So, what else has been happening. Well, Amy is 8 months old now. She sits all by herself for ages. She has started to try and get up on her knees and if she does, she pushes herself backwards, much to her frustration. She loves to eat food, especially the vegies and pasta I make. She has gone off the custards a little, she loves marmite sandwiches and toast. She still has not gotten any teeth. She loves bathtime still, especially when Kate and Luke hop in aswell as they keep her amused. She is really fast in her walker and runs everywhere, especially if there is food to be had. She watches other people and if they are eating, she wants to eat too. Her sleeping hasn’t been great of late, but i think that’s just because it is winter and she has been getting cold, even in her sleeping sack.
Last weekend, I went out the back to find Kate had caught a lizard, not only that, she had named the lizard Isabella and written up a full report! It was so sweet! She had that lizard for about a week until we told her she had to let it go. Heartbreaking, but since Kate couldn’t supply the lizard with the proper food, it had to go.
Well, thats about it from me today. I have the beginning of a cold so I hope it doesn’t turn into a full blown cold. Luke and Amy also have the start of a cold. That’d be right, school holidays in 1 week and my kids always seem to be sick on school holidays!
Take care and thanks for stopping by!

The last challenge.
The last challenge was harder than I thought for the DT comp at Scraploot. You had to ‘jack’ one of the layouts by the current DT members. I can do sketches, I can do colours, but I find it hard to copy someones work. I don’t know why. But in the end I thought to myself, just think of it as a sketch. It came together. Finally. And I like the layout. I used up an old as Methusela Making Memories leather frame I had. I still have 2 more to use since I bought them on sale, probably about 4 years ago now. I also used up my Boho Chic alphas I bought when WRMK first came out and they were the in thing. Lucky the letters I used where the same both ways so I could use the back colour of them! LOL! Yeah, I am really happy with how the layout turned out.
Good stuff. I am also glad the comp is over so now I can focus on doing my entry for SM Masters. I am stuck on the calendar. I kind of have an idea of what I want to do, but I really don’t know how to go about doing it. Especially with the size restrictions this year. I don’t know why I am bothering to enter really. I would love to win the prize pack, but I am not stupid, I know I really don’t stand much of a chance with all the amazing talent out there. No, that statement was not to make everyone swoon over me and say ‘but you are so good’ etc. I really mean it. When scrapping was still an infant here is Australia there was definately a great divide between good scrappers and the rest of us. Now I believe that those line do not exist anymore and the wealth of talent in Australia is astounding.
Well, I must run, I have some housey stuff to do. I have housey stuff to do everyday, but I just don’t do it usually. Take care and thanks for stopping by!

I have good intentions…
I always have intentions to update this thing, I just never seem to get around to it! I have stuff to write about from last weekend, let alone the one we just had! Well, here goes…
Kate and Luke went to my grandparents house for 2 nights over the long weekend. This was Luke’s first overnight trip to Grandma and Pops. He had been wanting to go for a while now, since Kate goes there during the school holidays occassionally. They had a nice time. Apparently they were really good and they ate all their dinner. They don’t eat all their dinner at home. Why is that? They helped grandma with some baking and drew lots of pictures. They went for drives. They just generally had a nice time.
I turned Amy’s car seat around the other day. She seems to like the forward facing drive. It is also much easier to get her in and out! Here is Amy on one of her last rearward facing drives.
When I was pregnant with Amy, a lady at work, Pauline, gave me a gift. It was a beautiful layette set that her mother knitted. She also gave me another set that one of her friends knitted also. They are so beautiful. Too beautiful to use! But then I wanted to put a nice warm jacket on Amy, so I pulled it out. It fitted perfectly. I need to have this photo printed off so I can give it to Pauline.
And this weeks challenge for the DT comp over at Scraploot required us to use PINK, BLUE, ORANGE, WHITE and BLACK. Interesting colour combo, huh? Yeah, I thought so too. SO, I took the easy option. One main colour and use the others as highlights. This is what I came up with:
Onto other crafty stuff, I have sandwiched Amy’s quilt and I have started quilting the top! Wait a sec, I will just go and get a pic… the yellow has turned out a little orange in this pic, but it is a bright yellow. It will have a colourful bind aswell. It has pink flannelette as the backing material. It is still going to take me ages to finish it because of the binding. I will get there though, and I can’t wait to have it finished!
I have heaps of other things I want to say but I will leave it there for today. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Welcome Winter!
Wow, winter, already?! My uncle once told me about a theory about time. It makes sense to me.
When we are 2, one year is half our lives. So it seems like a really long time. When we are 10, 1 year is 1/10th of our lives, so it still seems a long time. When we are 30, 1 year is 1/30th of our lives so it starts to feel quicker. Imagine when we are 100, 1 year is only 1/100th of our lives so it will just fly. Food for thought.
So, this last week wasn’t great. I started crashing on wednesday and I crashed and burned spectacularly on thurdsday. I was so tired. I could barely keep my eyes open. I just keep thinking to myself, this isn’t forever. Just until the kids are older and they no longer need childcare. Or until I win the lotto, whichever is first. Well, since I don’t play lotto, I guess it is until the kids get a little older. The money is good, so I can’t complain.
Amy was 7 months old last wednesday. I know, I can’t believe it either! She is getting there with her sitting. I have lots of mummy guilt about that one! She is also sick with a cold. The poor baby. She is asleep at the moment, so I am enjoying some nice quiet mummy time. Luke is busy playing with Noah’s Ark and watching Little Eiensteins at the same time. He loves that show.
Both Luke and Kate had performances last week at school for Education Week. I didn’t take any photos, but I did video it. Luke did some actions to a song and then he did another performance with the year 5′s – they reinacted the torch relay which involved slow motion running. Very cute! Kate performed a belly dance. LOL! Lucky for me, their performances were on different days! Here they are playing in the backyard after school.
I finished the next challenge for Scraploot. You had to do a layout using no cardstock, using felt, colouring in and at least 6 buttons. Many thanks to my model and to Vita with whom I stole the photographing idea off! The layout is about Luke and his first trip to the beach.
Thanks for stopping by!
