Day to day, Project 365
So far I have had two days of not making a mistake when writing the date.
Yay me.
Not related to my Project365, but here’s a photo of Amy taken the other day. She has really wanted to have a turn on the Wii since the kids got it for Christmas. Why not? You know, this girl out performed Luke, he was a gracious loser too, and myself, although I didn’t compete against her, the sheer number of aces she pulled out of the hat amazed me. I still haven’t managed one!

And now the continuance of my Project365 photos:
5. At the park. Not a great photo, but Amy loves to go on the swings and as long as you are in front of her pushing, she has no fear!

6. Sad but true, my Christmas tree is still up. It’s pretty. 2009 we went with pink, purple, blue and silver decorations. I wonder what combo we will use for 2010.

7. A guy at work lent me a book on photography. The first exercise was to go and change the aperture and ISO in order to set shutter speed. Yes, my camera has now been taken off the AUTO button and put on the MANUAL button. I know, it’s a hose and a brick wall, but I like the natural colours just the same.

8. Amy was playing in the backyard with some empty bottles. It looks like she was having fun? Now Luke and Amy are having sword fights with them. Oh to be a child again…

I also got a new toy for Christmas, I have no idea what to do with it or how to use it, but it’s all good.

Hopefully I will have a layout to share tomorrow. I have an idea rolling around in my noggin.

Project 365, Scrapbooking
Does anyone else keep writing October 2001 (as in 10.01)? Or is it just me?
Another post? So soon. Yep, a layout to share.

Based on this sketch for the challenge over at The Scrapbook Establishment.

I decided to have another crack at Project 365.
Last year I didn’t even get to day 19. Let’s see if I can beat that this year. *sigh* I am such a gunna.
So far here are the photos I have taken:
1. Kate watching Steve make a concoction of sparklers ans party poppers. Not a good photo, but at the time I wasn’t even thinking about doing P365!

2. Amy sitting with me in the gutter while I tried to get a decent photo of our cat. I didn’t get one. He likes to come and check the camera out.

3. The Harbour Bridge and Luna Park taken from the boardwalk at the Opera House during out Family Funday Sunday trip to the city.

4. Some of our mini agapanthas flowering in the back garden. I was trying to get a good depth of field. Yeah right! Maybe if I don’t try and use auto!

Where’d the week go?
Do you ever think to yourself ‘I’ll do that later’ and then you realise it is like a whole week later? I do. All the time. I am not sure if it’s because of working nights that I seem to lose days, but sometimes I feel like a day has passed but in fact it’s been a week. *Sigh*
Well, at least I have some layouts I can share. The first layout is in Lusi’s Top 10 feature in this months Scrapbook Creations. The topic was embossing. I love heat embossing with powders so that’s what technique I went with. I embossed onto acetate so you could cut out the pieces and adhere them, or you can place them over the top of lumpy bumpy things like ribbon.

Another layout is one I did for the newsletter over at The Scrapbook Establishment. I could use anything I wanted so I thought I would have a go at using some of my Sassafras Hog Heaven range. Gotta say, it wasn’t the easiest range to work with, but it’s cute so I guess that cancels each other out? No? I used batting for the clouds from a quilt I am still making Amy. Man, I am never going to finish that quilt.

Onto my Project 365:
13. I asked Luke ‘what would you like to do today? Anything you want, we will do.’ You can guess the type of answers I expected – bowling, movies etc. But no. He said ‘ummm play Lego’. I said ‘anything. The park, whatever you want.’ He said ‘ummm Lego and colouring in.’ Ok. I think we can manage that.

14. I went to bed one afternoon before work on that 42 degree day last week. Steve set up the wading pool for the kids and took some photos. He seems to take alot more photos now we have the SLR. I think he likes to play around with the settings and he loves the way the photos turn out. He said to me one day while we were looking at some photos on the computer that they looked real. Like you could reach out and touch them real. Yep. They do look better than anything I took with the old camera.

15. Just one of Amy playing in the wading pool again on yet another 40 degree day. Back to back. You would be mistaken for thinking it was hibernating season as there was no way I was going out in that heat!

16. Amy’s first ice block – a Paddle Pop Scribbler. Not to mention her 7th tooth that has come through. Steve said ‘ahh no wonder we had a couple of bad nights.’

17. Oh looky, there is me and Katie-bear watching a movie. The boys were totally not interested in watching the movie and tried very hard to distract us by dancing and doing silly things to be in our way!

18. For Christmas, Kate asked for some Ronald Dahl books. She will be eight in March and she has always read ahead of her expected level at school. I decided, what’s the harm, if she wants to read, let her read. However, we have poblems associated with her reading. Like if she wakes up in the middle of the night she will read and then we have a hard time getting her up for school the next day. We couldn’t figure it out for ages why she was so tired in the mornings! We still never figured it out until she told us. Her teacher also says that sometimes she goes off into her own little world. I wonder how much of that has to do with her reading and an active imagination?

Alrighties, well sorry about the mammoth post (I hear an echo…LOL!) but honestly, life has been pretty fast paced around here! Thanks for stopping by!

Some awards and more Project 365
I received this tag a while ago from this super chick, Skye, who I met through the forums over at Scrapbooking Memories.

And I received this award from Lisa, who I met through the SM forums also, and Tanya, who is the newest member of the DT over at The Scrapbook Establishment:

Thankyou so much for the awards!
Now, onto Project 365
8. I love to read. I don’t get to read much anymore, the last book I read was Ali Edwards Life Artist book. You know, I really enjoyed it and I found lots of inspiration in it. All my books are jammed in tight on the bookshelf as Amy loves nothing more than to pull them all off!

9. I was sitting at the set of lights, ready to turn onto the M4 when I thought, you know, I really like the composition of what I am seeing out my windscreen, so I grabbed my phone and snapped off a photo.
*photo to come once I find the software for my phone!*
10. Pancakes for dinner. I had not had pancakes for dinner before, so topped with bacon and maple syrup, it was a real treat! Well, after borrowing some flour off the nieghbour as mine had weevils. Grrr.

11. Amy has worked out that if you put the ball in the top it comes out the bottom!

12. Luke watering the plants.

In other news, we went to Ikea on Sunday. It was Steve’s idea. Although I wouldn’t say no! I have decided though that I am going to save my pennies and buy a 5×5 Expedit bookshelf, because, well, I need some more scrap storage. I am busting out of my current premises. I could always stop buying stuff, but where’s the fun in that?!
Well, that’s about it for today. I have stuff that needs doing and even with my lack of sleep I am in a motivated mood, so I better strike while the irons hot! TFSB!
