Some gorgeous flash cards. Yep. These were the find of the day. Just awesome. I also found some old photos and I thought they were cute, so I picked them up as well. I think they were taken in the 1940′s judging by the subject matter of one of them, so yeah, a good 65 years old I would say. I don’t have any old photos of my family, which, trust me, I am more than happy with since I still have 3 out of 4 grandparents!

Well, that’s about it for today. Just some finds. Steve was most happy I didn’t come home with any more furniture!

I do have a photo though, it’s not a great photo as bugger, I forgot my ISO was set to 1600 so it is a bit grainy.

But here is my cheeky wicked little girl. Wicked because she has a wicked sense of humour. Can anyone say class clown?

See the chair she is sitting on? Well, I picked up the biggest bargains. I went op shopping with my pal Sarah-Lou and I got 2 of these for $5 each! They are awesome and just what I have been looking for! Love it when that happens.

Now, I haven’t even continued with my A-Z photo challenge. You would think B would be easy, Beth, right? Well, you know, my hair is always messy and well, I can’t be bothered to set up the tripod. So after about 10 minutes of scraping ice off my car windows on tuesday morning after work, I thought I would take a photo of the frost on my front lawn. Now. The one thing I didn’t remember was my ISO was at 1600. I thought it was my lens giving me grief and not wanting to focus. No. Just turns out there was too much light. LOL. I always forget to check that!

So, there you have it, my B is for Brrr photo. Now to think of something for C. Hmmm.

Well, I may not be disabled, but I thought I would partake in this challenge. The best part about it is that it makes me take my camera out in winter. And from looking at my photos in years gone by, I have next to no photos during the winter months.

So, here is A. Really, how could I go past Amy? She is the cheekiest little chicken. She will say “Check it out!” and strike a pose. On one condition, there is no camera involved. Once I crack out the camera, that’s it! She doesn’t want any photos taken of her! But here is a sneaky one. I had to yell “dad’s home!” in order for her to even look at me!

I wonder how often they take the coins out of the water because I know the kids absolutely cleared me out of silver just throwing coin into it. I however took a different approach when I tried to frisbee a 20c piece into the water. I missed the water completely. Hmmm. I am always good for a laugh. Or to be laughed at. Either way.

Then afterward we headed over to Cockington Green. I don’t think I have been here in a good 20 years. It’s amazing the difference between kids eyes and adult eyes and I love the fact that some of the creators have a sense of humour! From zombies to streakers to ripped pants on the man getting on the horse. All good for a laugh.

Amy was quite smitten with the big green buttons. She was racing around the International Display just pressing all the green buttons. Well, not just the International Display, the whole Gardens. Wherever there was a green button, there was Amy worming her way past people to push it.

The displays really are quite amazing. So much work must go in to each and every one. I didn’t have a favourite, they are all pretty awesome, but I did like the photo I took of Stonehenge.

Onto Telstra Tower. The kids were scared because Steve may have made some quip about “how much do you trust concrete?” You can always trust that man to make you feel uneasy about situations! LOL!

And here we are at the end of our Canberra trip, up the top of the tower. Don’t even ask me what Luke was doing. This was the best photo of Luke out of the two. The other photo really needs to be kept for a 21st birthday embarrassing photo collage.

Well, I guess that’s about it. It was a very tiring day by the end. But most enjoyable. Maybe next time we will plan ahead and stay overnight as it really was alot to jam into one day.

This little picture of  a kiwi that Steve’s mum gave us when we were in New Zealand last year.

I am scared to put things on my wall. Scared that what I put there wont look good. Scared the style will date. Just scared that I wont like it after I have gone to all the effort.

Watch this space. I am going to put my big girl panties on and start making this house feel like a home.

Afterall, we have been here almost 3 years now… it’s about time.

You know, there are some definite advantages to working nights. Some mornings I get to see the most spectacular sunrises. I think with the heavy fog this morning it made for a real treat. The sun was just a massive big orange ball on the horizon today so as soon as I got home I headed back outside armed with my camera and started snapping. This one’s my favourite. I used a polarizing filter and got a bit of a sun flare but I just photoshopped it out a little.

I also have some layouts to share. From the newsletter at Ideal Papercraft (TSE’s new name). I used Cosmo Cricket Material Girl range. I must admit, I struggled with this range. The colour tones were all wrong for my photos but in the end I thought, who cares, no one is going to scrutinize it that much! And now you all will since I wrote that. Oops.

This is what we woke up to every morning. Nice, huh?
